“Thank you so much for helping me get her into Daughters of Sarah. It was wonderful place. Thank you so very nice, comfortable place, the people there are wonderful, they always will be and I will recommend it to that place to anyone who needs assistance with elderly care. It’s not just a nursing home, it’s an exceptional place to for a person to be. Everybody treats everyone with such love and respect. Everybody was just so kind about everything. “You have a top drawer Social Work staff, and PT and OT … and I’ve been through a lot. It’s top drawer. I’m impressed with the quality of this crew. They work you to the extent to which they believe you are capable, and then they are very sensitive to your limits. It’s a solid, professional staff, a sensitive staff, as good or better than any other facility I’ve experienced. The Social workers here are universally the best; they listen, they respond. They are the best. As soon as I get out of here, I want to volunteer here.”
“I am very appreciative of the kind, comforting words! But I am even more appreciative of the expert, dignified, compassionate care my father and I received at the home. From the entrance with Mary’s special smile to the greeting thru the MEU doors to the appetizing kosher meals enjoyed by Dad in the dining room – and the great activities. Thank you all! From the heart especially I appreciate the quick action taken by the staff of MEU on the night of Jan.27th. It gave me, I believe, about 2 extra weeks to have my father!”
“I couldn’t be happier that my parents are together. And the excellent care for my father has improved his situation tenfold; was near death when he arrived here from a nursing home in Massachusetts in early October. They’re in rooms next to each other. The staff on the Gold Unit are nothing are nothing but the best , from the nurse manager to the aides. Rec therapy is terrific. Everybody has been very kind to both my mother and father and to me. I look at the staff as my extended family – I’m there almost every day for a few hours.”
“We have had a lot of people at Daughters of Sarah over the years. Now Mom is going to everything. Before she was here, when she was still living at home, we couldn’t get her to go anywhere. She was never a shul-goer, but now she goes.”
“I enjoy coming to Greatdays and doing different things. Favorites are crafts and having entertainers, participating with music.”
“The Greatdays program has increased my knowledge of the wonderful people who care for the folks who need this type of social contact. I benefit greatly by trusting their tender care. I hope Joan has benefited by trusting the staff to lessen her dependence on me. Hopefully she’ll realize there are other loving people who care.”

“For Shirley, Greatdays has provided a stimulating program of interesting activities in a social atmosphere – all administered with nursing supervision and carried out by a competent, caring staff.
For John, Greatdays allows time to continue teaching part-time at the University, and to do other things, while Shirley is safe and under excellent care.”

“It gives me time to make doctors’ appointments, do my shopping, do yard work, or just goof off.”
Glenn B. May, caregiver for Carol N. May
“The program has helped me a lot. If not for this program I could not work, I would have to be home with mother 24/7, as no one in my family will help. They tell me to put her in a nursing home; my mother did not want that, so I’m doing my best to keep her home until I can no longer do it.”

“Thoughts on the Fifth Anniversary of The Massry Residence
Many things ran through my Head during the recent Celebration Evening of the Five year mark of the Massry Opening its doors to the Community. As I enjoyed my beautiful Dinner my thoughts turned to those early Days when our Resident numbers were very few. I looked around the Decorated Dining Rooms for the Early settlers (I was the 11th). There were but Four of us still here. Genia was in the Nursing Center, Maddy Alfred was in a Nursing Center in Western Mass., and the others have gone to their Reward. It was a sobering thought.
It is with humble thanks that I pay tribute to those far sighted Individuals and dedicated People who made this Haven which has become our HOME possible and a reality. Because of their efforts we are alive and active and able to partake of each Day. Therefore it is fitting that we say Thank You and be able to rise and recite the SHACHAYONU – Blessed is our God who has kept us and sustained us to enjoy this Day!”
“It was wonderful. I can’t praise them enough. The nursing care, the physical therapy, and the occupational therapy was wonderful. They did a lot – I was there for five months – there was a lot of work that they did and I did with them. I worked primarily with Dina, who is absolutely
wonderful and so are the other girls.”
"You would think you're at the most expensive hotel. And the Recreation Department does a tremendous job. We had two seders, and each person was invited to bring two guests. Where else do you see that? The Jewish organization does an outstanding job."
